| Michelin Design Winners Michelin Announces Winners of 15th Annual Design Competition for CCS Students
The competition was based on vehicle designs that would be successful in meeting the accelerating demand for the emerging Chinese auto market and tyre/wheel assembly based upon Michelin's PAX(R) System Technology. This annual design competition is an important aspect of Michelin Challenge Design(TM) and Michelin's commitment to, and fostering of, design. This year, four students from CCS will have their designs on display together with 38 selected designers from 16 different countries at the 2004 North American International Auto Show as part of the Michelin Challenge Design presentation at Cobo Center. "Michelin was founded by two brothers -- an artist and an architect," said Tom Chubb, vice president of marketing, Michelin Automotive Industry Division. "Edouard and Andre Michelin each had the ability to look at ordinary things and imagine the extraordinary. It is that spirit and vision that Michelin continues to cultivate through Creative Partnerships with CCS, the annual Michelin/CCS Design Competition and Michelin Challenge Design at NAIAS." Michelin presented the first place winners with $1,250 scholarships. Second place winners received $1,000 scholarships and third place $750 scholarships.
