"The future belongs to car brands that powerfully communicate image and emotion at frequent intervals, similar to the way it is done in the fashion business... Car exteriors are like a second skin.
"A car's removable outer skin could provide style, status and flexibility as well as protection, warmth and safety. My concept for interchangeable coats for the first time creates sustainable upgradeability even for used cars, enabling all owners to respond to trends."
Spatial & Emotional Adaptive Car Interior
"When driving a car, internal factors (such as the driver's mood or the passengers) and external factors (weather, environment) can quickly affect our emotional needs. For example, being stuck in a traffic jam with two children or driving by night alone generate totally different needs of space and comfort. However, a sensible use of light could be one way to transform cars into adaptive spaces. Flexible and sensual, light has been used many times by artists to stimulate our mind and create inviting systems."
Reinventing the Bicycle
"I set out to identify and capture the true essence of a new, modern bicycle. To understand the inherent nature of the object, to exploit the benefits of advanced materials and the possibilities of cost-efficient mass production, in order to give the bike an appropriate personality and character for contemporary cycling."
|Daniel Rodriguez Ramiro:
Open Plan Vehicle
"The mass produced automobile has its roots in the 'people cars' that appeared in Europe in the mid 20th Century as an attempt to make mobile a society in which the nuclear family was the dominant social structure.. ..However, there have been in recent decades deep sociological changes that have affected the household composition of Western societies.
"My project is intended as an exploration of the trend towards new family types and the patterns of use in these alternative households."
